Khrisma 7/2 Favourite in Betfair Imperial Cup | Sandown Preview & Cheltenham Link (2026)

The Betfair Imperial Cup is heating up, and the odds are in for this thrilling horse racing event! But who's the favorite to win it all?

Khrisma, a six-year-old mare, has taken the lead in the betting game, emerging as the 7/2 favorite after a total of 30 horses were entered for the prestigious race. With her impressive track record, she's caught the attention of many.

Trained by the renowned JP McManus and Nicky Henderson, Khrisma has already secured two victories out of three starts, including a recent triumph at Market Rasen. And here's where it gets interesting: there's a massive £100,000 bonus on the line! If Khrisma wins the Imperial Cup and goes on to conquer any race at the Cheltenham Festival next week, her connections will pocket this substantial reward. Khrisma is entered in both the Ryanair Mares' Novices' Hurdle and the William Hill County Hurdle at Cheltenham, so the excitement is building.

But Khrisma isn't the only one with a shot at glory. Mondo Man, a former French Flat racing star, is hot on her heels as the 6/1 second favorite. Trained by the father-son duo Gary and Josh Moore, Mondo Man recently dominated at Plumpton, leaving his competitors in the dust as the 1/7 favorite.

Two more contenders, General Briar and Rubber Ball, are also in the mix at 8/1 odds. General Briar, trained by Chris Gordon, is aiming for a hat-trick after two recent wins, while Rubber Ball, a well-supported winner at Newbury, is trained by Neil King.

And let's not forget about Go Dante, the two-time defending champion of the Imperial Cup. Despite being a 16/1 outsider, he's aiming to make history with a third consecutive win, but he'll need to bounce back from a disappointing performance at Newbury.

Betfair's spokesperson, James Mackie, shared his enthusiasm: "The Betfair Imperial Cup has attracted a strong field of 30 runners, and the competition is fierce for this lucrative prize. The £100,000 bonus adds even more excitement, as the winner could potentially double their reward at Cheltenham."

Mackie also highlighted the favorites: "Khrisma, the 7/2 favorite, is Nicky Henderson and JP McManus' hope for the County Hurdle at Cheltenham. She's the second favorite for the Friday race at the Festival, and a win on Saturday would be Henderson's first in this race since 2009. Mondo Man, at 5/1, is an exciting prospect for the Gary Moore team, aiming to capitalize on his impressive rating."

The race is shaping up to be a thrilling rematch, as last year's top three finishers are all set to compete again. Go Dante, trained by Olly Murphy, is a 12/1 shot to achieve an unprecedented hat-trick of wins.

Wreckless Eric, last year's runner-up, is back at 14/1, while Betfair ambassador Paul Nicholls' Afadil is a 12/1 chance to bring home the trophy for the third time in seven years. Nicholls' Nardaran, at 25/1, could also be a surprise contender.

And this is the part most people miss: which horse will rise to the occasion and claim the Betfair Imperial Cup? Will Khrisma live up to her favorite status, or will an underdog steal the show? The race is on, and the excitement is palpable. Who do you think will be the ultimate champion? Share your predictions in the comments below!
