The Eagle Line consists of a sophisticated assembly of machinery, materials, and highly automated processes that together lay the groundwork for the production of QuantumScape’s proprietary technology. Central to this line is the innovative Cobra process, which offers a unique and scalable approach for producing the specialized separator that is crucial for their battery cells.

As production ramps up, the Eagle Line is expected to manufacture battery cells that will facilitate customer sampling, rigorous testing, demonstrations of the technology, and integration of products. It also aims to showcase scalable production capabilities that will empower licensing partners to produce batteries at a gigawatt-hour scale in their own facilities. Moreover, the Eagle Line will act as a research and development platform to explore and test further advancements in technology and processes at significant scale, thereby bolstering QuantumScape’s ongoing development initiatives.

"We are thrilled to unveil the Eagle Line to the public for the first time," stated Dr. Siva Sivaram, President and CEO of QuantumScape. "This line serves as a robust platform to illustrate the scalable production of our solid-state technology while addressing the growing demand for improved batteries. This marks a crucial milestone in the journey toward commercializing our technology."

Dr. Luca Fasoli, COO of QuantumScape, commented, "The establishment of the Eagle Line is a remarkable technical feat achieved by our dedicated team. Following the deployment of the Cobra process, we swiftly progressed to enhance our cell manufacturing processes to boost output, scalability, automation, and quality. I take great pride in the tremendous effort that has been invested to bring the Eagle Line to fruition."
